At the end of 2015, Never Settle hosted its 2nd annual World Change campaign to promote giving and volunteering during the holiday season. Our goal was to empower our community of ordinary people to make an extraordinary impact in the world during the two month campaign. To accomplish our goal, we partnered with like-minded nonprofits, business, and individuals to create opportunities for the community to get involved. This year there were multiple days of gift matching so that donations could have double the impact. Also, companies like Google helped get their employees involved by allowing us to setup a booth during lunch to advertise our causes.

I’m proud to announce that $19,774 was fundraised by over 120 people during our World Change 2015 campaign. 100% of this money is committed to humanitarian programs implemented by our amazing partners.

Meet the Nonprofit Partners

World Change 2015 was expected to be one our largest fundraising campaigns in our history, and it lived up to that expectation. We understand the importance of making sure charitable donations are used in a responsible and effective manner. For that reason, we decided to join forces with three nonprofits that Never Settle has worked with for multiple years. The strong history of collaboration and transparency between our organizations gives us the confidence to distribute funds donated by our generous community.

A short blurb cannot fully do justice to the life-changing work performed by these non-profits, but I want to provide a quick introduction. Visit our Nonprofit Partner page to learn more about these organizations and others that implement our programs.

Splash cleans water for kids living in urban poverty and teaches them about hygiene. Their innovative and long term approach utilizes water purification systems retrofitted to meet the needs of the developing world. Their ultimate goal is to make themselves obsolete by allowing local business, communities, and governments to completely take over their projects while expanding on their model.

The Global Orphan Project cares for the immediate needs of orphans while addressing the cause of this global crisis. Their comprehensive programs transform communities in 23 countries by providing high quality education and creating local jobs. For example, they train and employ local tailors in Haiti to sew school uniforms for children that otherwise would miss out on primary school.

Team Rubicon pairs the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders, medical professionals, and technology solutions to help those affected by natural disasters both domestic and international. In addition, they offer a supportive community and leadership development for the men and women that have served our country in the US military.

These innovative organizations are masters of sustainable solutions in the water, orphan care, and disaster relief sectors. By focusing our efforts on these organizations, we can funds projects that are proven to have positive humanitarian outcomes and transparent financial information. We are intentional about our giving in order to create the largest impact possible.

Progress Report on Impact

At the beginning of January, all fundraising dollars from World Change 2015 were equally distributed between Splash, Global Orphan Project, and Team Rubicon. It will take time to fully scope and implement the programs funded by Never Settle, so you can look forward to more updates later in the year.

In the meantime, I want to give you a quick idea of the scale of impact we made together during the World Change 2015 fundraising campaign. Each nonprofit organization was given a little more than $6,500 with the purpose of directly expanding the impact of their humanitarian efforts. Our partners all agree to spend 100% of these funds on the direct costs on their programs. Here is what they will be able to accomplish this year because of your generosity:

  1. Splash can purchase, install, and maintain a water purification system in an urban school serving up to 2,000 students daily.
  2. Team Rubicon can deploy over 20 skilled volunteers with military and medical experience to respond to emergency disaster situations.
  3. The Global Orphan Project can produce 325 school uniforms for orphans while creating local jobs that pay a living wage.

Thank you to everyone that donated to World Change 2015 and the entire online community supporting the campaign. Our global impact would not be possible without you. Join our mailing list if you want to get more impact project reports from our projects.
